Meet Deb Cockerton

Deb Cockerton is a highly experienced Child and Youth Care Practitioner with over 40 years in the field. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology (BST) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Child and Youth Care Studies.
Deb is the creator of the CYC PD Tracker App and the founder of CYC Assets, both developed to support practitioners in organizing, reflecting on, and demonstrating their professional development. She is also the co-owner of Otonabee Family Counselling Centre and co-founder of RelationalWise, where she supports practitioners transitioning into private practice and entrepreneurial pathways.
Deb is a former professor in the Child and Youth Care Program at Fleming College, where she contributed to the development of future practitioners in the field.
Known for her relational approach and commitment to practical, accessible learning, Deb has presented at provincial, national, and international conferences. She is passionate about helping practitioners move from knowledge to application—strengthening both individual practice and the field as a whole.
Outside of her professional work, Deb enjoys gardening, decorating, and spending winters in Europe.
